Wild Mustang Sanctuary Colorado

Wild Mustangs are known for their incredible beauty and strength, but sadly face adverse conditions on BLM land due to overpopulation. Every year, close to 15,000 horses are removed from the range to prevent horses from suffering under these conditions. While many horses are adopted through BLM and the Mustang Heritage Foundation, many horses don’t get adopted through these programs, which is where the Wild Rose Mustang Advocacy Group steps in. By providing a Wild Mustang Sanctuary Colorado residents and surrounding area residents have the opportunity of a lifetime to give these horses the loving homes they deserve. Keep reading to learn what makes this wild Mustang sanctuary special.

Why you should consider adopting from our wild Mustang sanctuary Colorado based group

  1. We train our Mustangs before adoption

Because many of the Mustangs arriving at our facility have never been handled, they must get the proper training from our staff before being adopted. We use natural horsemanship techniques to get the horses to trust humans so that a strong partnership can develop. Then each horse goes through basic haltering, picking up their feet, trailering, groundwork, under saddle training, and finally, showing. This way, they are ready for you when they are adoptable.

  1. Our trainers are top-notch

Our head trainer, Cayla Stone, has trained over 50 Mustangs over the last six years working with our group. When you adopt a Mustang from our organization, you can expect a horse that is ready for partnership and has shown significant progress throughout its training. In addition to being a top-notch Mustang trainer,  Cayla is a CSU Equine Science program graduate and a two-time finalist in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition, just to name a few of her qualifications. You can rest assured that you are getting an incredible animal when you adopt through us.

  1. Our horses are happy and healthy

At our wild Mustang sanctuary Colorado based facility, you can expect a well-taken care of horse ready to find its new owner. We provide veterinary care, farrier, chiropractic, and nutrition care that these horses need to live their best lives before coming home with you. That way, when they do, you can be sure that your new friend is already at the top of their game.
